Ohhh - look at that !!

And she has hair - Almost 3" and curly  !!!

Diane...I will give you my cell# when I see you next.
Sandie and Jim...We hope to see you also in the Fall.
I woke up not feeling so hot so I didn't go to Church...UGH  I feel a bit better now.  I think it was something that didn't agree with me.
Like Sandie and Jim said: It's a good thing that I don't need to do my blog now cause then, it says, I am doing very well and everyone doesn't need a day by day blow of my adventure.  Life is an adventure with many big and little adventures along the way.
I will keep in touch on Facebook.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
"LIFE"

However good or bad a situation is, it will change.
No matter how you feel, get up, and get dressed.
The best is yet to come.

Diane...That's right, we will communicate in all sorts of ways.  Do you text?   Lunch today was marvelous, as usual.  Our family away from home.  It will seem funny stopping my blog, but I have been doing it every day for nearly a year now and I never thought so many of you were following me in this adventure.  It has been a marvelously, wonderful year with all of the support I have received.  I just never imagined such a scary disease could turn out to be the best thing that has ever happened to me.  I know that seems weird but my story runs deep.

TO HELP YOU PASS UP THAT SECOND PIECE OF CHOCOLATE CAKE, YOU SHOULD:
A...Vow to get on the scale the next morning.
B...Remind yourself that it won't look good on your hips.
C...Make a fist.
D...Keep a bag of carrots and other healthy snacks handy.
Answer:  C:  For an instant hit of will power, clench your fist.  A new study published in the Journal of Consumer Research found that tightening your muscles when faced with temptation can help shore up your self-control.  One caveat:  It only works in the moment, meaning, while you're actually staring down that slice.

SPECIAL DELIVERY
One day my 4-yr.-old granddaughter, Rylee, came over and we made a pie for her to take home.  I asked if her mother had whipped cream to go with it, and she shook her head no.  I told her I'd send some over and Rylee said,  "Don't send it in the mail!"

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Be kinder than is necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
Retirement is so wonderful!!

After much thought I have decided it is time for me to end my blog.  It has been nearly a year now since I started and since I am feeling so good and cancer free it is very hard for me to find things to write about.   I will do my last blog on Sunday.  All of this has been a wonderful experience for me and kept me focused.  It has also been a very touching experience knowing that so many people were reading my blog and supporting me.  I guess a person just doesn't know how much they are loved.

THE BEST PLACE TO STORE VITAMINS IS IN YOUR:
A...Frig
B...Linen closet
C...Medicine cabinet
Answer:  B.  The high humidity in bathrooms can cause vitamins to lose their potency.  Refrigerators, often the second choice for storage, can also cause them to degrade faster because of temperature changes resulting from the door constantly being opened.  To preserve efficacy, stash your vitamins in a cool place away from sunlight and humidity, and out of reach of children.

WINTER SOUVENIR
My brother, Don and family were visiting one winter, and his daughter Briana said,  "Daddy, I want an icicle!"  Don pulled one off the porch and she put it in her pocket, declaring,  "I'm taking this back to Florida."

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
The child is in me still.....and sometimes not so still.

Diane...I am sure Charlene is a bit depressed.  Moving back and then losing her husband is a lot to handle.  I hope she does come out for lunch, I think it would do her a world of good and we would like to visit with her.  Clover Island Inn is selling some of their furniture for $15.00, for each piece.  Kristene wanted some things so Janene and I went down there and picked up a few things.  No beds though, just end tables, desks, and chest-of-drawers.  We then went to "Real Deals", down town Kenn.  If you haven't been there you must go, it is a lot of fun to see all the pretties.

WHICH ITEM IS LIKELY TO BE THE GERMIEST?
A,,,kitchen sponge
B...Bathtub drain
C...Remote control
D...toilet seat
Answer.  A.  Beware the kitchen, especially sponges, which soak up bacteria from food and counter tops.  The solution:  Moisten them, then pop them in the microwave for two mins.  While you're at it, give any remotes a swipe with disinfectant.  They're a magnet for germs, particularly during cold season.

It was a blustery, cold day when my son, who was 3, came in from playing outside.  As I placed a cup of cocoa in front of him, I said, "Be careful, it's a little on the hot side."  He looked up and asked, "Which side is hot, Mommy?"

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
One of the major reasons so many of us remain hurried, frightened, and competitive, and continue to live life as if it were one giant emergency, is our fear that if we were to become more peaceful and loving, we would suddenly stop achieving our goals.  You can put this fear to rest by realizing that the opposite is actually true.

Diane....I hope people are not worried any more cause  "I"  is doing great.  So sweet of friends to be so concerned.  How fun to have Joe for three whole days.  A whole year since the passing of Judy, wow!  She is preparing the way, for all of us, to enter and be with her.   It just had to be that way so every thing is organized and the meal is set.  That cute little G-granddaughter is Baileigh.  She is a very precocious  ( 2 ) yr. old.  When we went over to their home she had to show us all her pretty clothes and toys and how they all worked.  She also likes to pose for pictures, as you can see.  I love living here, the weather is so great.   No real surprises like in other parts of the country.

HOW MUCH SCREEN TIME PER DAY WILL HURT KIDS' SOCIAL AND INTELLECTUAL DEVELOPMENT?
A...45 MINS
B...2 HRS.
C...3.5 HRS.
Answer:  C.  The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that preschoolers limit screen time (including TV, computer, and video games) to two hrs. a day.  But a recent study found that over 66% of young children exceeded that mark, which can lead to speech delays and obesity.  In a study of tweens, a daily dose of over two hrs. of screen time was linked to increased psychological, problems, including difficulty getting along with friends.

As he flew to Atlanta on a commercial airline, the admiral, I worked for struck, up a conversation with his elderly seatmate.  She asked how he liked the Navy.  "I love it," he answered.  "It's the best thing I've ever done."  "How nice," she said.  "So do you think you'll make it a career?"

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
"How far that little candle throws his beams!
So shines a good deed in a naughty world."

Diane, no I have not started another round of chemo.  In fact, I just had my blood work done this morning and everything looks great.  I asked the nurse if I was in any stage of cancer and she said; "O" stage, since you don't have any sign of cancer.  I am totally clean every where.  By the end of March It will be one year since I started chemo and by the end of May one year since I finished chemo.  Radiation ended 9/22/10.  I only have to go every three months now for blood work.  2010 was an amazing year.  I have a picture, on facebook, of me receiving chemo last year, which I didn't mean to put there.  I just discovered it today.  I didn't know how to put pictures on my album so I was practicing and those got on there and several I wanted on didn't make it.  Guess I need another lesson.

#7 To decrease your chances of catching a cold, avoid the following:
A: Going outside with wet hair
B: Watching too much TV
C: Sleeping in a draft
Answer: B.  Catching a chill from an indoor draft or a blast of winter wind when your hair is wet will not cause a cold.  On the other hand, being a couch potato may increase your likelihood of catching one.

A BLONDE'S YEAR IN REVIEW
February
Fired from pharmacy job for failing to print labels.....
Helllloooo!!!....bottles won't fit in printer!!!

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
"May today there be peace within.  May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be.  May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others.  May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.  May you be content with yourself just the way you are.  Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.  It is there for each and every one of us."

Diane....Looking forward to Sat.  Hope we have a good turn out like last Sat.  We met with our Monday group today and Bill talked about geneology and the importance of putting names on all pictures.  He has several old pictures with no names on them, so sad.  We delivered cookies today to a few friends of ours that we don't get to see very often.  It was a nice day just very cold.  When this month is over we should see more sun and warm weather, anyway I am hoping so.

THE MOST DANGEROUS PLACE TO GAIN WEIGHT IS:
A...all over    B...Belly    C...Thighs    D...Hips
Answer: B.  A bit more padding in your arms or legs may make your clothes snug, but it won't harm your health like a spare tire.  New research from the Mayo Clinic has shown that lower-body fat is not biologically the same as a roll around the middle; that's largely made up of visceral fat, which has been linked to a higher risk of diabetes, heart disease, and some cancers.  But moderate aerobic exercise like walking can help reduce belly fat.  Crunches, not so much.

When a patient was wheeled into out emergency room, I was the nurse on duty.  "On a scale of zero to ten," I asked her, "with zero representing no pain and ten representing excruciating pain, what would you say your pain level is now?"  She shook her head.  "Oh, I don't know, I'm not good with math."

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
It's not the honors and the prizes and the fancy outsides of life that ultimately nourish our souls.  It's the knowing that we can be trusted, that we never have to fear the truth, that the bedrock of our very being is firm.
