This is Sydney with aspirations of wanting to be a lap/dog.
We just finished watching a movie "I am Sam". It was full of many very tender moments, display of extreme love, an abundance of patience and a very good message, which brought tears to both of us. Best of all it had a, feel good, ending and I like that. Janene and family went to Moses Lake but Kareen stayed behind, due to her working today. We spent the morning talking and playing with dogs, including her dog, Sydney, a golden retriever. She is so funny and cute, and you should see her playing with our 6 lb. Maltese, it's a hoot. She is very gentle with her but when she touches Pieper, Pieper squawks, not from pain, she just gets excited, very entertaining.
Hospital regulations require that a wheelchair be used by patients being discharged. However, while working as a student nurse, I found one elderly gentleman already dressed and sitting on the bed with a suitcase at his feet, who insisted he didn't need my help to leave the hospital. After a chat about rules being rules, he reluctantly let me wheel him to the elevator. On the way down, I asked him if his wife was meeting him. "I don't know," he said. "She's still upstairs in the bathroom changing out of her hospital gown."
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
ATTITUDE
The longer I live the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than success, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill, it will make or break an organization...a school...a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past...we cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have and that is our attitude...I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me, and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you...

Goodmorning Robin - I copied your thought for the day and put it on FB...really a good one for all of us to embrace. Larry is golfing and I am about to get on the "busy" around here as I have Emblem Club at 2:00 today and would like to go to Dress Barn and see if I can find a couple of dresses for the Elks Convention coming this week. If nothing at Dress Barn maybe in Yakima. Hope your day goes well today and you enjoy some summer weather - Love you, Diane
ReplyDeleteHi Robin;
ReplyDeleteLoved you picture of the Golden Retriever.
I loved the movie, I AM SAM....I have actually watched it several times and I cry every time. Such a neat story.
We are very busy painting and getting ready for the laminate floors. We will be unpluging the computer soon and it will be down a week or two so wanted to say Hi now. Always thinking about you.
