WOW!! Pink foil....Who would have thought.
Diane, bazaars already....ouch. We enjoy Christmas, more now, since we started giving money, as their gift, instead of presents. Saves time, money, headaches, etc. We have two great-grandchildren now and they are the only ones that get presents. Little ones are so much easier to shop for, since their toys aren't as expensive as older people's toys. The annual prime rib dinner is part of their gift and we serve plenty so everyone can get their fill and then some. We are going to my Brother's and his wife Barb, for Thanksgiving this year. I love Thanksgiving, since it is such a quiet holiday, no rush and it reminds us of the many blessings, we have, to give thanks for. We went to visit a very good friend of ours, at Kenn. General Hospital, Renee McKinnis, from our family home eve. (changed to day) group. She had a stroke last night and isn't conscious yet, but she is sleeping nicely, without any machines to help her breath, or anything. That's a good sign. They are such a wonderful family and very close to each other.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
"Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, vision cleared, ambition inspired, and success achieved."
Helen Keller
Goodmorning Robin - Very sorry to learn of Renee McKinnis's illness.......hopefully she will be OK. I cannot say I know her but the name sure goes way back. Our family buys for everyone, young, old and in-between so bazaars are the ticket for me. I have also been crocheting some neck warmers with some lovely yarn I got at JoAnn's the other day...saw some other I liked up there so will try it next time. We had a wonderful day on Saturday...my niece had an Open House in her new home and my nephew and his girlfriend were here from Germany (he is in the Army and she is a german girl). We had such fun meeting her and of course seeing him again was a delight. Once again amazed that these little babies grow up so quickly. I am headed to the golf course this AM to see if I can at least hit a few balls in 9 holes...exercise anyway. Will you and Bill be meeting us at the Clover Island Inn at 2 on Tuesday....this coming week just goes on and on for me...will be happy to have the Pie Social over so I can get on, with gusto I might add, to Larry's birthday party Nov. 13th! By the way, I agree so about Thanksgiving...always a fun holiday that is relaxed and very reflective. Hope to see you both on Tuesday. Love you, Diane
ReplyDeleteForgot to tell you, Bob Keenan was at the Open House.....he is always so nice and says "he may surprise us" and come to lunch....not holding my breath but great to see him anyway.
ReplyDeleteOne last thing.......I see you and Bill are coming on Tuesday - Thanks
