The weather man was way off track this time. No new snow last night but theirs still hope for a white Christmas or a rainy one. Guess it doesn't matter either way. I love Christmas, a time when people are thinking of others and how they can help someone in need. We went to Janene and Kevin's ward today because a couple of our grandchildren were singing in the choir. A brethren was giving a talk about his memories of Christmas. He said something had recently happened to him that had never happened before. He was at a drive-in, in line, waiting for the person in front of him, that was taking way too long. When he got up to the window he was told that the person in front of him had paid for his meal. He said he was overwhelmed with gratitude because of the kindness of a person he had never met. He reminded us of the many times we have the opportunity to be kind to others, whether it be a clerk, someone on the phone or any situation we are in. Five more days until the unveiling. I am really nervous about this because I have worn hats for so long I really feel funny without one.
We were on our way home after a fun evening with friends, and each of the children had a balloon I had given them. Emily's popped and she burst into tears. Johnny responded, "Good thing it wasn't mine!"
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
They were hoping for a king
A man of wealth and might
But God sent forth a baby
A child to give us light
