I took this picture a couple of years ago when we rode the bike to Mt. Rushmore.  I think the one donkey was laughing at the stuffed animals we had on the back of our trailer.

When I registered at the hospital I was given, what is called, a necessities bag that had things in it for my recovery at home, like bandages, tape and other necessary things.  One item was a 8 page pamphlet with very useful information about what to take to the hospital and what to wear home but one thing that was said was what to get done before surgery.  It made me chuckle.
You are scheduled for surgery and knowing you will be out of action for a while, you make a list and hit the ground running.  The frig. is stocked, laundry is washed, cleaning done and etc. My personal list is much longer than that one.  I was told no finger nail polish, however nothing was said about toe nail polish, which are polished and ready to go, pretty in pink with sparkles.
Another thing said: The morning of surgery take a very long shower and wash your hair all 1/4th inch of it.  I thought I would dye it pink but I am sure that wouldn't be appreciated.  I feel bad for Bill, he has the hard part.  It's not easy taking care of someone but maybe I will sleep a lot.  He will be doing the blogs for a while to keep everyone up to date.
