Kareen's dinner table above and the dessert below
Diane, I just sit here at my lil ole lap top and type everything in.... amazing huh. Larry, my goodness, I sure hope your sister gets some encouraging news. Diane, I know you won't worry, like, it's just not you to worry about anything, so what do you think, is the sun going to rise in the morning?
Zak, I'm glad you liked the puppy story, so did I.
Ok, so today I got up with a little more energy..... did a bunch around the house, felt good to get something done. Early afternoon I was taking a short nap when Janene called and informed me Kareen had an assignment due tomorrow, for her food class. She needed to plan a meal, buy what she needed and make a well balanced dinner and also have people critique it, so she was asking if we could come for dinner but didn't know a time because Kareen had so many responsibilities for the eve. It turned out we ate around 6:00. She was fixing....gumbo....my thought, what the heck is gumbo? The word just made me cringe. As it turns out it is a good tasting dish and she did a great job of making it, also we had fruit and a nice tossed salad and rice. Even came with dessert. The dessert consisted of crushed oreo cookies on the bottom, next pudding and topped with cool whip. Yummie!! Now we all figure she is holding out on us because we now know she can cook. Now I can say I have eaten gumbo and I actually liked it, probably because she did such a great job of cooking.
POLICE
It was the end of the day when I parked my police van in front of the station. As I gathered my equipment, my K-9 partner, Jake, was barking, and I saw a little boy staring in at me. "Is that a dog you got back there?" he asked. "It sure is," I replied. Puzzled, the boy looked at me and then towards the back of the van. Finally, he said, "What'd he do?"
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
A good exercise for the heart is to bend down and help another up.
Goodmorning Robin - Wow...I want to be invited to the next experimental meal Kareen serves...especially dessert!!!!!! Off to the golf course this morning...looks fairly good out and I am ready to hit the little white ball. Thanks for the encouragement with Larry's sister..hopefully it will be a small thing or nothing at all. Larry, Mary (Larrys sister)and I were on a road trip and we stopped in Denver at a cousins house...we did some washing and I was ironing some clothes for us...ironing hers was like ironing 'barbie doll' clothes and she has only gotten thinner. One always thinks a bit of weight is a good thing!!! OK dear friend...I am off...cards today at 2:00PM...must make a note to self to only join one card group not four......Love you, Diane
