It has been a fun month looking for pink things for my blog.

I did way too much yesterday, especially in using my arm.  At first, this morning, I couldn't use it, but after a while it was better.  That may be due, to the fact, that I took a pain pill....Duh!  We had dinner over at Janene and Kevin's this eve. and it was wonderful as usual.  I have an appointment at the Cancer Center tomorrow, for a blood draw, and then an hr. later I will see Nurse Marlene to talk about the findings from my blood draw.  We only had "1" Tricker Treater and that was at 4:00.  We like that.

THE IMPORTANCE OF WALKING
I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.

For my next to the last pink picture for Breast Cancer Month is a pretty little pin cushion.

This morning we attended the funeral of our dear friend.  The chapel was packed with friends and family, lots of family, and they are so wonderful.  The funeral was full of laughter and tears.  From there we went to Hillcrest, to have our family pictures taken.  Amazingly so, it all went very smoothly.  Our photoghrapher (LeeAnn Norris) did a great job.  She will put the pictures on her gallery and we will choose the ones we want and then she will put them on a disc for us. She reccommended two places for us to have them run off.  There is no copy right so we can do as many as we want.  Last time we did this, from someone else, it cost us in the 100's.  I'm excited to see how they turn out.  After that we took Kareen and Sean over to "Red Robin", for lunch, to celebrate her 18th Birthday.  I came home and took a nap, I was beat.  Phil and Lana are spending the night and leaving for home, in the morning.  I am glad they were able to come down from Bellevue.  It was a good day.
Have a safe Halloween.

THE IMPORTANCE OF WALKING
My grandpa started walking five miles a day when he was 60.  Now he's 97 years old and we don't know where he is.

Pink Reindeer for Christmas!

Diane, A true golfer will play in almost any kind of weather and it sounds like Larry is a true golfer.  Make sure he uses sun screen on his ears and neck.  Today wasn't nearly as chaotic as yesterday.  Busy but not chaotic.  Nicole spent the day with us because she just wasn't up to par for school.  I had a P.T. appointment with Sara today, always good.  Tomorrow we have a funeral to attend, of a very dear friend, that was part of our weekly group together.  She is so loved by her family and many friends.  This just wasn't expected, it  happened so fast.  Enjoy each day, we don't ever know what a day will bring, that alters our life.  Our family will have pictures taken at 12:00 tomorrow. It should be fun, I hope.  There will be 26 of us so it will be a challenge.  We hope to do this every five years, from now on.  Gave Bill a hair cut this eve. and also washed all three dogs.  Now that is a real challenge, we end up getting wetter than the dogs, well almost.

THE IMPORTANCE OF WALKING
Walking can add minutes to your life.  This enables you, at 85 yrs. old, to spend an additional 5 months in a nursing home at $7,000 per month.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
They say it takes a minute to find a special person.  An hour to appreciate them.  A day to love them.  But then, an entire life to forget them.

Amen!!

We are home and the chaos begins.  When we got home we went up to Kristene's to pick up our dogs.  Sandy, our Cocker, wouldn't come out from underneath their porch.  She has been deathly afraid of Chris, since she was a puppy, and we have no idea why.  He trys to give her treats, but nothing has helped.  She seems to have gotten worse and this time was really bad.  No matter what I did she wouldn't come out, so we sat on the porch and she finally came up and Kristene grabbed her.  She is very skittish anyway, but this is ridiculous.  We came home and fed the dogs, then Bill took me over to Janene's, because we were going to go to Kenn. High, for a concert, that Reese was in.  We went early because Reese had forgotten to bring his instrument home and so he was going to ask his teacher if he, teacher, was going back to the middle school and could he, get his instrument.  He wasn't going, so, Janene got on the phone and a friends son plays the same instrument and he loaned him his.  Janene at the same time was in a very long line waiting to buy Kareen's class ring and also pay for her cap and gown.  She was in line for an hour, and got done just in time for the concert.  The concert was an hr. and a half long, way too long.  Reese's group was up next but we couldn't stay because she had to get Emily to a swim lesson at 8:00, so we left.  She got to her lesson on time, Reese got to  play, but we didn't get to see him  :-(  and she got the items ordered for Kareen.  Two out of three isn't bad for an eve.  This is an example, in the life, of the Law family.  I was happy to get home and relax.

PRICELESS MOMENTS
One afternoon I came home and was very upset to find a terribly messy front room and kitchen.  I began to scold all the children in sight.  "Look at this mess!  Books on the floor!  Crumbs everywhere!  An apple core on the piano!"  Aaron spoke up.  "Well-don't just look at it that way, Mom.  Look at all the clean places there are!  See-here's a clean place!  And there's a clean place!"  Look for the clean places.

It was surprising to find out the light is much brighter with a pink flash light.

I finally woke up this morning, before lunch and then I finally got ready.  After all, we are on vacation, so, what's the hurry.  We then walked downtown, just for the sake of walking.  If you have never been downtown Spokane, and not walked around the sky-walk, you are missing out on a lot of fun. You can go to many stores, without even going outside, sort of like a mall, but not.  We then went to the IMAX theater, at the Riverfront Park, but we were an hour early, so we played minature golf, halloween style.  I know you are wondering what is Halloween style golf.  Well, first off it is very dark, with spooky sounds and strobe lights and decorations and things hanging down and it was a lot of fun.  With all that walking downtown we only bought one small item, and that is amazing for me.

TRUE STORIES
Driving back from Vermont, I stopped at a vegetable stand.  It was deserted except for a sleeping German Shepherd.  I stepped over the dog, helped myself to some corn, then opened the cashbox to pay.  Taped to the inside of the lid was this note:  "The dog can count."

Brutties candy store.  I told you it was cute.

Me and my honey.

These are two water bottles in our room, but we are not going to drink them, because they are way too expensive.

Here we are reporting from beautiful downtown Spokane.  Skies are grey and the temp is 40 degrees.  Mild wind, approx. 45 mph.  Gotcha, just kidding.  We walked to the Spokane Carrousel, short distance, to ride on those beautiful, old horses.  I rode on them when I was very young, when they were located at Natatorium Park.  They are now located at Riverfront Park, downtown Spokane.  Fun place to visit, for the whole family, in the Spring and Summer months.  We then went to a very, cute candy shop that was always located in the Davenport Hotel, but after talking, to an employee there, he said they had moved across the street.  So we went across the street and there it was, cute as ever.  Homemade taffy and peanut brittle and all kinds of choc., their very own, perfected recipes.  The person that started the shop in 1928 is long gone but his daughter is still running the shop.  They started, in the Davenport, that long ago.  Well, the scoop is, July 3rd the owner got an E-mail, from the owner of the Davenport, stating they had until July 30th to move out.  The owner said "it is my Hotel and I can do what I want."  Wow! What a guy.  Long story short, they were able to find a place to put their shop, get a lease signed, paint, new floor, wallpapered, etc.  I don't know the name of the lady we were talking to but I do know we are very good friends now.  You must go there, it is called "Brutties"  I told you I have never met a stranger.

TRUE STORIES
Before my daughter went on her first date, I gave her "the talk".  "Sometimes, it's easy to get carried away when you're with a boy," I said.  "Remember, a short moment of indiscretion could ruin your life."   "Don't worry," she said. "I don't plan on ruining my life until I get married."

Pink playing cards.  Maybe I could win using these.

Diane, I remember going to the CBC gym, several years ago, with a friend.  Yes, it is a good deal.  Another P.T. session today, only with a different person.  She was good but I like Sara better.  I guess I am just picky.  We are going out of town tomorrow, only to Spokane, but we just wanted to go somewhere for a couple of days.  We will come home Thurs. afternoon.  I hope I will be able to use my laptop while I am gone.  I figure I will, but just in case I can't, you will know why.  I just about got blown away today, anyway, my hat just about did, I really had to hold onto it.  It is nice, for me, that the weather is turning colder, because, now I can wear the knit hats, Janene made for me, and not get too hot.  We are doing family photo's this next Sat..  If the weather doesn't cooperate, we will do them inside.  The last time we did photo's was 5 or 6 yrs. ago.  Boy, everyone has sure changed since then.  We hope to do this at least every 5 years.
Enjoy the moment.

FINALLY  ( the last one )
A girl was visiting her blonde friend, who had acquired two new dogs, and asked her what their names were.  The blonde responded by saying that one was named Rolex and one was named Timex.  Her friend said, "Whoever heard of someone naming dogs like that?  HELLOOOOOOOO.....," answered the blonde, "They're watch dogs"!

Our amazing grand-daughter, Samantha Crook, carved the breast cancer ribbon in a pumkin for me.  Wasn't that sweet!!

We went to Janene and Kevin's ward today for the Primary program, that's held once a year.  The kids are adorable, singing and giving little talks in Sacrement.  Our good friend, that I talked about earlier, just passed away.  It's really hard to believe we have had another one of our Family Home Eve. friends leave us.  She was a very loving, kind, person and of course she still is, just on the other side of the vale.  We know families are forever so when we all pass on we will be with our families.  It is a very comforting thought.
I gave the wrong price yesterday, for the curtain panels, Kristene found at Fred Meyer's.  They were on sale for less than $7:00 and Penney's were on sale for $23:00.  Boy! What a mark-up.   Bill cleaned our fish tank yesterday and now we know there are fish inside.  It was really bad.  All of a sudden, the wind blows and there are a pile of leaves, on the ground, in one day.
Don't get blown away!

IN A VACUUM
A blonde was playing "trivial pursuit" one night....It was her turn.  She rolled the dice and she landed on Science and Nature.  Her question was, "If you are in a vacuum and someone calls your name, can you hear it?"  She thought for a time and then asked, "Is it on or off?"

Bill found these lawn flags in Texas.

I did a little bit of shopping with Kristene today.  She was looking for curtains for her bedroom.  We went to Penney's and looked around to see what she would like.  It was a hard decision but we finally found some and they were on sale, anyway, we thought so.   They were reg. price for one and second one was 88 cents, not true, the fine, very fine print read, sale for valences and beads only.  Well, that was a waste of time.  They were charging way too much for simple panels.  Kristene called me later from Fred Meyer's and said they had the same panels, for a very good price, sort of like half price.  Now, the moral of this story is, always read the fine print first, then make sure the item is on sale and if it really is, wait a couple of weeks and then it might be priced even lower and if the item isn't there, well, you were just not meant to have it anyway.  :-)  That's my story and I'm stickin to it.  It's amazing how nice our weather is here.  I wonder if it will ever get very cold.
Enjoy your day.

BLONDE ON THE SUN
A Russian, an American, and a Blonde were talking one day.  The Russian said, "We were the first in space!"  The American said, "We were the first on the moon!"  The Blonde said, "So what!  We're going to be the first on the sun!"  The Russian and the American looked at each other and shook their heads.  "You can't land on the sun, you idiot!  You'll burn up!" said the Russian.  To which the Blonde replied, "We're not stupid, you know.  We're going at night!"

Oh my!  It's coming in pink.

35 to 14 - Way to go Lions!

Diane....A pie social sounds wonderful, just not the work that goes into it.  This morning we walked, and walked and walked, at the Gold's Gym.  It feels so good to be exercising and having the strenght to do so.  Bill fertilized the lawn, this afternoon....yea.  He also cleaned the microwave, which really needed cleaning.   Now we hope it doesn't rain.  Janene and I went to our super Sat. only it was on Fri. this time and we made aprons.  They are really cute and will put a picture of them on later.  The game was almost boring, because Kenn. was always ahead, by 3 touchdowns, over the Sun's.

KNITTING
A highway patolman pulled alongside a speeding car on the freeway.  Glancing at the car, he was astounded to see that the blonde, behing the wheel, was knitting!  Realizing that she was oblivious to his flashing lights and siren, the trooper cranked down his window, turned on his bullhorn and yelled,  "PULL OVER!"  "NO!" the blonde yelled back,  "IT'S A SCARF!"

Indoor Formula, pink cat food.  I'm not sure if my cat would like this or not, but then, she is colored blind, so it might work, after all.

I wasn't as busy today, but still had plenty to do.  We seem to never get to stay home anymore.  Went with Janene today to have a bit of pink, real hair, glued in.  It is exciting I have enough hair that I can do this.  After that I had a Physical Therapy appointment with Sara.  She is so marvelous!!  Wants me to come in twice a week now.  She says, to use my right arm, as little as possible.  What I like about her is, she is into preventable healing, I like that.  She said if I am feeling pain, think about what I am doing and stop and give my arm a rest.   That is very hard sense I am right handed, but I will really try.   We are working on me not having to have shoulder surgery.  Oh!, I like that news.  Went to Penney's to pick up an order for a Christmas present.  I like to think ahead, then I can enjoy the Holidays.   Came home and the rest is very boring, so I won't bore you with mundane happenings.
Love hearing from you.  Take care of yourself.

AT THE DOCTOR'S OFFICE
A gorgeous young redhead goes into the doctor's office and said that her body hurt wherever she touched it.  "Impossible!" says the doctor...."Show me."  The redhead took her finger, pushed on her left shoulder and screamed; likewise she pushed her ankle and screamed.  Everywhere she touched made her scream.  The doctor said, "You're not really a redhead, are you?"  "Well, no" she said, "I'm actually a blonde."  "I thought so," the doctor said, "Your finger is broken."

WOW! This must be sharper sense it is pink....of course it is.

Chandler Marie....I love you sooooo much more.   You are a very, special person to me.   My life has been blessed, to have you, as my adopted Granddaughter.  Can't do lunch this Thurs. or next, but after that it's a go.  This morning Bill dropped off Barry (dog) at the Vets. to have his teeth cleaned.   He had a few pulled, which doesn't surprise me, sense he is 15 people years and going strong.   We then went to Gold's Gym, finally.  We have been members for a while but just couldn't go, until now.  We had a great time on the treadmills.  I proudly walked, for half an hour.  I didn't go very fast but that's OK, just doing this, is important for now, the speed and lenght of time will come.  We then picked up the boys from school and then went to "Home Depot".  Barry was done by then so we picked him up, took him home and then on to Richland, to pick up support stockings for me.  I am told to wear them, for prevention of Lymphedema, which I will gladly do.   We then went to Costco to fuel up and then finally home, in time, to feed our dogs.  Boy what a day!!!  You would think I would be flat on my back, but surprisingly, I still have energy.....YEA.  I'm getting there.
Enjoy your day!

RIVER WALK
There's this blonde out for a walk.  She comes to a river and sees another blonde on the opposite bank...."Yoo-Hoo!" she shouts, "How can I get to the other side?"  The second blonde looks up the river then down the river and shouts back, "You ARE on the other side."

This is a cutting board.  Much prettier in pink than in green.

Diane,  How exciting a little baby girl.  Your right, new life is always very good.  It seems to humble us a little.  I think when I am trying to lose weight the sweet tooth grows and wants more and more until we just have to give in.  But then giving in, is fun, until we get on the scale.  Darn scales....why were they ever invented.  We have choc. chip cookie dough, you could sneak over around midnight and we could have a real pig/out.   This morning had my nails done by Gini.  They are really cute, orange with black and silver stripes, how fun is that.  Janene came over and we cut out patterns, for making aprons, which we will do Fri. night, at our Relief Society meeting.  Usually we have a Super Sat. once a year where we make fun things for gifts or whatever, but this time we are having a Super Fri. eve.  We are going to stay just a short while because there is a football game, that night, between Kennewick and Southridge.  It ought to be a great, exciting, game because they both have only lost two games each, so they are pretty even.  This afternoon we took Reese out, to find things, for his costume.  He plans to be Two Face, whatever that is, I don't know, but he is excited.  This eve. we went to Kenn. High, for a concert, and the Mad Hatters did a couple of numbers.  It was very special, because we have two grandchildren in the choir.

SPEEDING TICKET
A police officer stops a blonde for speeding and asks her very nicely if he could see her license.  She replied in a huff, "I wish you guys would get your act together.  Just yesterday you take away my license and then today you expect me to show it to you!"

It was fun to walk in and see all the pink decorations at the front desk.

Diane, you are one busy lady, which is a good thing.  Let me know of any good bazaars, I do like them.  Just fun to see other people's talent. Thank you for your 3 comments.  We plan to be at Larry's party on Nov. 13th, sounds like fun.  First today we went to Winco for a few things and then to my Dr's appointment, with Dr. Rawlins, for my yearly physical.  He is such a wonderful Dr., and that's why I have been going to him for several years now.  He told me to tell my family that my heart was still pumping.  He has a great sense of humor.  He now has an office in Kennewick and still in Richland.  It is very handy for people living in Kenn.  I took a couple of pictures of their front desk because it was decorated so pretty in pink, hearts and ribbons.  At 1:00 we met at one of our group's home, for lunch, that we have once a month.  Good food and great company, except, we missed Renee and Stu McKinnes.  Haven't heard much more news about Renee except they say it doesn't look good.  I am so sad for the family.  After lunch we came home and made cookies to take up to the McKinnis's.  A lot of family are there now.  We went to Rite aid to get some pills refilled, then home sweet home.
Drive safe.

FLORIDA OR MOON

WOW!! Pink foil....Who would have thought.

Diane,  bazaars already....ouch.  We enjoy Christmas, more now,  since we started giving money, as their gift,  instead of presents.  Saves time, money, headaches, etc.   We have two great-grandchildren now and they are the only ones that get presents.  Little ones are so much easier to shop for, since their toys aren't as expensive as older people's toys.  The annual prime rib dinner is part of their gift and we serve plenty so everyone can get their fill and then some.  We are going to my Brother's and his wife Barb, for Thanksgiving this year.  I love Thanksgiving, since it is such a quiet holiday, no rush and it reminds us of the many blessings, we have, to give thanks for. We went to visit a very good friend of ours, at Kenn. General Hospital, Renee McKinnis, from our family home eve. (changed to day) group.  She had a stroke last night and isn't conscious yet, but she is sleeping nicely, without any machines to help her breath, or anything.  That's a good sign.  They are such a wonderful family and very close to each other.

Standard Flag Kit - Bill found this one in Texas

I woke up earlier than usual because, Janene and I went to another ward for their craft day.  We learned how to etch our name onto a 9x13" glass pan.  You can etch onto any clear glass object.  I remember doing this before, on drinking glasses.  It was an easy process, thank goodness.  Hard craft projects just confuse me and then Janene has to do them for me.  Janene came home and finished Kareen's dress, which turned out very pretty and so professionaly done.  Reese Law shampooed our living room carpet today and did such a great job.  Bill and I usually do it but with Bill's bad back, he can't do it and I can't use my right arm for such things, for how long I don't know.  I was hoping to go to the Women's Expo, that is held once a year, but it just didn't work out.  I will try again next year.
Remember to do things with family and friends today, because we never know what tomorrow will bring.

Pink gloves must do the job better.

It is so nice to have Bill safely home.  There are three little girls (ages 3, 4, and 5 ) that our niece and her husband adopted and they really clung to Bill.  They loved there grandpa and Bill was able to, sort of, fill in, for a short time.  We just came home from the game early because the half time was over and Kennewick was so far ahead it was getting boring, can you imagine. The band performed and then the dance team came on to do their dance routine, which included locking arms and kicking their legs very high, like the famous Rockeets.  They were fun to watch.  The young men and women, from the courts, walked onto the field.  They then announced the king and queen.  Kareen didn't make Queen, but that's ok because just being on the court two years in a row is amazing.  I am just loving this weather and enjoying it, because it may not be this nice for much longer.

Even safety pins.  So cute, I may have to get some.

I'm excited, Bill comes tomorrow at 11:00 A.M.  It will be wonderful to have him back home after being gone a week.  He is having a good time, re-connecting with family, after many years.  This afternoon Janene and I went to an assembly at Kenn. High because with Kareen being on the court.  They have a different court, from each class and they all get on stage and look so pretty and handsome, all dressed up.  Tomorrow night we are going to the homecoming football game and then they will crown the King and Queen.  It will be a lot of fun.  I slept all night last night, which is something I haven't done in many years.  I don't know why but it was wonderful.

Pretty pink scissors.  They must work very well sense they are in the pink also.

Myself and Janene and family went to Kenn. High to watch the parade that has the young men and women, of the courts, riding in cars.  Many others joined the parade as well.  They were all having a good time with the good old Lion spirit.  It was fun to watch.  The band is much smaller than it used to be but then maybe they all weren't there.  Tomorrow night, at the game, they will let everyone know who the King and Queen are. It always brings back good memories.

Look at this, even a small sewing kit is in the pink.

Diane, that's wonderful news about Larry's sister.   I don't wish arthritis on anyone but in this case it is good news.   Yes, it was great timing for Bill, and many other things happened that was incredible timing.  Had a wonderful session with Sara, Physical Therapist, today.  Janene was with me and thought Sara could help her, with her arm and headache pain, which she has been suffering with for many years.  After that we went to JoAnn's, so Janene could pick out the material, to make a dress for Kareen, for the Fri. night Homecoming game.  She will be sewing like crazy for the next three days.  We ran a few more errands looking, for things, for the dress.  I came home and took a little nap, with my dog's.  Bill said there was a memorial for his brother this eve. and said it was very nice.  Several of his friends got up and spoke about him.  He was a very good and spiritual person.  He will be missed.
Enjoy this great weather we are having.

I almost didn't get this picture.  When we saw it go by, I had to whip out my camera, turn it on, aim and fire.

Well, it's a sad day in the Crook family.  Bill's brother passed away earlier this afternoon.  His organs just started shutting down.  It's hard for me to be here and Bill there.  He will be home Fri., and it's  not any too soon for me.  It's hard to believe that both of his, older, brothers are gone.  Bill didn't get to Texas until Sat. night and so much has happened since then, one might say too much has happened.
I can't believe this, beautiful, weather we are having.  Sure is nice.   I'm really tired and so sense I can't think I better go to bed.

I went to church today with Janene and family, since Bill is out of town.  Bill said his brother had 6 "cold blues" after the heart attack.  They have lowered his temp. and will start bringing it up to normal at midnight, our time.   12:00 hrs. later, his temp. will be up and then he will be checked to see if  he is brain dead or not.  His kidneys have completely failed and that's not good.  I am glad Bill is there, to help out, with the family.
Enjoy your families.

ev
Yarn at Jo-Anns, celebrating Breat Cancer Month

Diane, I am so sorry to hear about Larry's sister.  I also hope it is just a cyst.  Had a fun day with Janene.  We went to her ward and made a couple of fun things.  I will put them on my blog after Oct. is over.  At 4:00 we went to a singing program, that Eric was in.  They did an excellence job of singing.  Bill left for Texas this morning to see his brother, Guy and wife, Lois and family.  His brother has been in and out of the hospital lately.  A month ago Bill kept having a strong feeling he  should go see his brother and so he went on line to purchase tickets.  When he got there Lois had just taken Guy to the hospital because he wasn't feeling good.  Right after Guy got there he had a massive heart attack and hasn't come out of it yet so Bill didn't get to talk to him. He is only 69 yrs. old.  They give him a 10 to 15% chance.  I'm glad Bill is down there now, to support the family.  Guy's daughter just lost a baby boy, a month ago.  This is a hard time for them.
Enjoy each day.

Do you like my new hair-do?

Diane, that is wonderful, only .4 lb.  I can gain five, in a week, not on vacation.   Had another great appointment with Sara, my Physical Therapist, from Therapy Solutions.  She said I can't wear a compression sleeve because of the surgery on my arm. I had tried one on at "In Home Medical" and I only had it on for less than 2 min. and had to take it off.  My arm was talking to me the rest of the day. She gave me a sleeve that is a little loose and after 2 hrs., I had to take it off because it was so uncomfortable.  What to do, What to do.  I will just keep doing the exercises and it will all work out.  At noon we went to Lampson's Stadium and made a bow, with people standing on a blue line.  I don't think we broke a record but it sure was a lot of fun anyway.  I wore a pink wig, which I never would have done, in the past, but now I am empowered, so it happens.  It was a beautiful day.  The weather has been fantasticly wonderful.
Be Happy!!!

More pink things  - Bed Head Product

I had a really great, time today, shopping and spending money with Janene and having lunch at "Red Robin".  They offer so much food that we shared a meal and we couldn't even finish all of that.  Our Granddaughter  (Kareen ) made the senior class court,  for the Prom, which is a week from tomorrow.  We are really excited for her.  We were out about 4 hrs. so I came home pretty beat, but it was worth getting tired for.  Tomorrow is another busy day.  Tomorrow, at noon, at the Lampson Stadium,  in Kennewick, Southridge High School Students are asking people to come and to help make a ribbon, on the field, with people, for Breast Cancer month.  They are hoping for a record turn-out.

It is truly amazing the number of things that have come out pink with the breast cancer ribbon on them.  This is a sewing bag.

Had my Physical Therapy appointment today, to find out how to control Limphedema.  I made the appointment 6 wks. ago because this is the earliest I could get in to see her.  She is extremely thorough, like wanting to know all the surgeries I have ever had and any stresses that would effect my lymphatic system and all the meds. I am taking.  She was with me 1 and a half hrs.  When we were nearly done she said she would have liked to have seen me about 4 wks. ago....go figure.  I will be seeing her once a week up into Dec.   After seeing her we went to "In Home Medical"  to get a compression sleeve but they didn't have the right size, I was told to get.  After we got home I was a bit tired.  Tomorrow I have a fun day planned.
Enjoy your day.

Southridge High School early morning assembly to kick off Breast Cancer Week.

Had to get up at 4:30, but glad I did because of the Southridge High School program, to kick off Breast Cancer Week.  It was open to the public but it was mostly supported by the kids.   Great program.  On the way home we stopped for breakfast, haven't done that in a very long time.  After we got home, next thing on our list, was a much needed nap, which lasted about 2 hrs.  Fantastic morning.

Now, how can you turn down such a deal on an imbroidery machine that makes such beautiful designs!!

Diane, that's amazing, only gaining 2 lbs. after a weeks vacation.  You deserve an award.
Spent most of the day, with Janene, shopping a little.  We went over to the Bernina store (sells sewing machines and other fun stuff for sewing).  In the mail I received an add, from this store, stating we could try out the lastest embroidery machine and make a ribbon.  This machine is amazing.  All you have to do, is, do the settings and it threads itself, cuts the thread as we change the thread colors and plays music.  It is so fun to watch.  All of this for the mere, low price, if you buy it today, of    $10,000.   I called Bill and said "I really have to have this machine",  it will change my life and I don't even have to have sewing skills, using this machine.  He didn't even blink, I could tell, and he flatly said  "NO"  I couldn't believe he would pass up such a great deal, I mean it even plays music and it also sews, not just embroiders.   :-)   This took way too long, but it was entertaining.  After this we went to Macy's and checked out the new make-up.  I'm really not that big on make-up but they have a new line just for Christmas and it was only $30.00.  I knew Bill wouldn't mind because it wasn't even close to $10,000.  It was a great day.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears,
The figure she carries, or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart,
 The place where love resides.
The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole,
But true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.
It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that
She shows, and the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows!

Can you believe it!!!...even the bag of chicken feed is pink.

Diane, so happy you are safely home.  It is always fun to go but coming back home is the best.  We were talking about Nancy, Sat. at lunch, and we all couldn't believe another classmate was gone from us, we just sat around and talked for about 2 hrs.  I guess we all needed to find comfort in one another that day.  I am so sorry for the loss of another very good friend of yours.  This has been a hard year for you.  Stay strong and know that you are loved by many.
Wasn't Conference just wonderful this week-end.   I hung onto every word that was spokenIt seemed to me, that Pres. Monson was so sad, because Conference was over for 6 more months.  For those of you that aren't members of the Church you must watch Conference next April.  The words spoken are for the whole world not just for Church members, anyway it's just worth it to hear the "Mormon Tabernacle Choir".  Janene and family came over to watch, because they don't have cable.  We had a fun day.
Drive safe whereever you are.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
It is only a tiny rosebud,
A flower of God's design;
But I cannot unfold the petals
With these clumsy hands of mine.

The secret of unfolding flowers
Is not known to such as I.
GOD opens this flower so easily,
But in my hands they die.

If I cannot unfold a rosebud,
This flower of God's design,
Then how can I have the wisdom
To unfold this life of mine?

So I'll trust in God for leading,
Each moment of my day.
I will look to God for guidance,
In each step of the way.

The path that lies before me,
Only my Lord knows.
I'll trust God to unfold the moments,
Just as He unfolds the rose.

I thought that was so petty so I wanted to share it with everyone.

These are two more items one can buy with the pink ribbon.

This is another adorable hat Janene made for me.  I'm a bit spoiled....you think.

We had our monthly lunch today with our classmates and their spouses.  What a great bunch of friends.  We came home and I shampooed our family room, twice.  It really needed a good cleaning.  I was pretty tuckered out when I got through.  Today was Janene's Birthday, so while the guys were at a Priesthood meeting,  I went over to watch a movie with her.  Came home and gave our Cocker (Sandy) a bath.  Boy, she was really dirty.  Well, that was basically my day....in a nut/shell.
Hope you had a great day.

These are the goodies I got this morning at the Cancer Center breakfast and the bucket filled with goodies was from Chandler.

This is Dr. Rado's wife and nurse.  She is a very caring and amazing person like her husband.

This is "Breast Cancer Awareness Month",  to remind women to get a yearly mammogram and to do self exams.  This morning was so much fun, at the Cancer Center, for the "Pink Lighting" event.  It was still dark out, being it was soooooooooo...early.  Even KNDU T.V. station was there, to film the event.  After that we went inside and we were treated to a very nice breakfast, catored by a place in Richland, called The Castle. As we went in we received our T-shirts and a goody and got our card punched and then again at the Library, the Recourse Center and then down the hall.  They will be doing a drawing later.  The lunch was in the Wellness Center.   One can buy nearly anything pink with the ribbon on the item.  Janene just bought chicken feed and the bag was pink.  This eve. we went to a dinner, at our chuch, that consisted of fresh crab and salmom.  Needless to say it was wonderful since I like both.  Tomorrow is General Conference so those that will be watching this week end....enjoy, as I know you will.

TWO LITTLE BOYS
Two little boys, ages 8 and 10, are accessibly mischievous.  They are always getting into trouble and their parents know if any mischief occurs in their town, the two boys are probably involved.  The boy's mother heard that a preacher, in town, had been successful in disciplining children, so she asked if he would speak with her boys.  The preacher agreed, but he asked to see them individually.  The mother sent the 8 year old in the morning, with the older boy to see the preacher in the afternoon.  The preacher, a huge man with a deep booming voice, sat the younger boy down and asked him sternly,  "Do you know where God is, son?"  The boy's mouth dropped open, but he made no response, sitting there wide-eyed with his mouth hanging open.  So the preacher repeated the question in an even sterner tone   "WHERE IS GOD?"  Again the boy made no attempt to answer.  The preacher raised his voice even more and shook his finger in the boy's face and bellowed,  "WHERE IS GOD?!"   The boy screamed and bolted from the room, ran directly home and dove into his closet, slamming the door behind him.  When his older brother found him in the closet, he asked, "What happened?"  The younger brother, gasping for breath, replied,  "We are in big trouble this time!"  "GOD is missing, and they think WE did it!"
