Bill and an elderly man are working on the puzzle set up at the cancer cntr.
We also saw Dennis DeFord there for his 3 month check up. He is such an inspiration for me. He was in Seattle for his treatments and actually in a radiation room for 7 days because he actually radiated, to the point that no one could come in his room. They put his food through one of those doors that open on top and the bottom and he literally had to take care of himself, pretty lonely. After that he lived in Seattle for 5 months, going for treatments and many other things at the hospital, nearly every day, before he could come home and then after coming home, his count was so low he couldn't go anywhere for a long time. He was away from church for nearly a year. It's so nice to have him back. As I have said before, I don't have to look very far and see someones situation, so much harder, than what I am going through. This is just a little drop in the ocean for me. April 22, 23, 24, and 25 are the days I will have to stay home because I will be at my lowest white blood cell count before my next treatment.
After the session, Kristene, Bill and myself went to lunch to celebrate and then Bill and I went to Target to get me a new hat. Have you ever gone into a dressing room to just try on a hat, well I did. I am just doing a lot of 1st in my life now and I know there will be many more to come. This is a wonderful adventure and I am taking all of you with me, so you had better be having a good time. : )
STORY FOR TODAY
Melanie (age 5) asked her Granny how old she was. Granny replied she was so old she didnt remember any more. Melanie said, "if you don't remember you must look in the back of your panties. Mine say five to six."
Kids say the cutest things.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Pain and suffering are inevitable but misery is optional.
I love your comments.
Goodmorning Robin - Sounds like yesterday went great for you..........sure happy those white blood cells regenerated so well and you had plenty of company for your chemo adventure. Yes, you are going thru many "firsts' and showing the rest of us what spirit, faith and loving friends and family can do for a person. I am off this morning to play golf so will report in to you later - Love you, Diane
ReplyDeleteWell darn some of these adventures are prickly! I remember more than a few years ago my mom commenting on my adventures saying," But Gail, your life is so INTERESTING," and I did not smile. Wish I had Mom here now to smile at and hug - but she would be 100 this year and I'm sure she's in a good place. Robin, you have a ton of courage! It's wonderful you have such a great supporting cast but you are the heroine!

ReplyDeleteWell...........all I got from golf today was exercise, but that is good too. When we started it was raining but by the 8th hole the sun was beginning to shine. Fun time!!!!!!! Yesterday I planted about 3 dozen flowers so this rain is good for them.........have a good day honey, Diane
