"The treasures I received for Mother's Day"
Bill gave me that darling Penguin (I love Penguins). The blanket, pillow and eye soother Janene and Kareen made (in their spare time) very spare, that is.  Kristene gave me the cute ankle bracelet.  Nicole made the container and lid, that the pansies are in.  She is very good at making things from a ball of clay. She also made a very cute bracelet that I forgot to put in the picture because I wore it today and when I took it off I put it on our dresser so it was out of sight.  A while back I  mentioned I wanted someone to make me a Zen garden and so, to my surprise, Andrew made me one and to add charm he added an old caboose,  from a train set.  Richard gave me a beautiful plant named Campanula Get Mee and it is a perennial, which I like.  The really cute card is from Phil and Lana.

Did banking this morning and then met some very good friends, for lunch, at China Cafe.  They used to live here and when they retired they moved back home to Gowrie, Iowa.  A small "All American" farming town with good values, that one doesn't see very often.  It sounds like the best time to visit Gowrie is for the 4th of July because they really know how to celebrate, in a good old fashioned way.  After lunch we came home and took a wonderful nap.  It was a very good day.

Q.  Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle?
A.  Definately not!  When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger.  You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
"I think of a hero as someone who understands the degree of responsibility that comes with freedom."
-Bob Dylan

I am back to typing, even though my right hand is numb and very weak, so that makes me very slow but then I"m not in any hurry..

  1. Goodmorning Robin....Many, many goodies for Mothers Day!!! Roxie and Carla are here today for cards so it will be a fun afternoon. Looks like a beautiful day out there today as well so we could not ask for much more. Larry's sister does have lung cancer so she will be going back to Spokane where they will remove it with a needle, as I understood her. She will be in the hospital 3 days...says no chemo or radiation afterwards but I have problems thinking that will be the case. Will let you know as we know. Have a wonderful day in the sunshine today. Love you, Diane
