More beautiful scenery at Lake Chelan.

Barbequeing steaks, (donated by Bob Zlatich) for our class and were they ever delicious.

It is always so fun to plan, pack and leave on a little vacation and wonderful to return home, refreshed and finding all is well at home.
I just finished reading an amazing story in the Reader's Digest about a young lady that was run over by a train and lost her hands and both legs, one above the knee and one below and how she reclaimed her life and to use hooks for her hands and prosthetic legs.  Humans, she says, "are made to compensate."  Dr. Esquenazi didn't sugarcoat her situation: "You will always miss your hands.  Nothing we do here will ever be like what you lost.  But you have a choice.  You can hide in a corner, or you can rise to the moment and do the best you can with what you have."  Daniela knew that he was right.  And she held onto something else Dr. Esquenazi had said: "Your life will be what you do with it."  "I decided that if there was any limit to my recovery, it would have to be determined by my body - not by my mind," she says.  What an incredible attitude she has.  She went on to be a rehabilitation physician like Dr. Esquenazi and in 2007 married her best friend, of several years.  WOW!!!

A police recruit was asked during the exam,
"What would you do if you had to arrest your own mother?"
He answered,  "Call for backup."

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
"You can't separate peace from freedom because no one can be at peace unless he has his freedom."

What time as we do not have Joe...Mikes mom is here from Spokane. Great weekend at Lake Chelan and looking forward to Western WA on the 28th of August. Joyce is going to send me the name of a motel in the vicinity but now that we have her address we could do so internet exploring. She is also sending an RV lot address.
